DJs using Muvic
Muvic is used by DJs who buy their music: people with a residency to prep, a crate to keep straight, and no interest in spending the night before a gig in browser tabs.
In their words
We are collecting these now, and we would rather show you nothing than show you testimonials we wrote ourselves. If Muvic saved you a night of tabs, tell us what it saved you and we will put your words here, with your name and your city on them.
One prep session, start to finish
The first person who used Muvic every week was the person who built it. Seth DJs around Denver and plays with the collective Split Second, and every set used to begin the same way: a playlist full of tracks he loved, then a night of tabs.
The old routine, for a 50-track set: open Beatport, search "Artist - Title", check the mix is the extended one, add to cart, repeat. Anything Beatport did not carry meant switching to Bandcamp and searching again. Somewhere around track 30 the question stops being "is this the right mix" and starts being "did I already buy this last month". Two to three hours, most of it typing artist names he had already typed.
The routine now: drop the .m3u in, click Sync, walk away. Muvic searches Beatport first, falls back to Bandcamp for what Beatport does not have, skips anything already in the Music.app library or a previous sync, and flags every miss instead of guessing. About ten minutes later the cart is full and the misses are in a list to dig through later. The review still happens by hand, at checkout, where it belongs — nothing is ever bought automatically.
The part that actually changed is not the ten minutes. It is that gig prep went back to being about choosing music.
DJ collectives using Muvic
Split Second — Denver, Colorado. Four DJs sharing gigs, and four crates that have to stay straight. Muvic's founder plays in it, which is why the duplicate detection is as stubborn as it is: nothing is more annoying than paying twice for a record because it came in on someone else's playlist.
