Version history for Muvic on macOS.

v1.0.8

Latest

October 8, 2026

Desktop

  • Track previews play again. A change on Deezer's side had made every preview show as unavailable.

Web

  • Signing in to Beatport or Bandcamp no longer fails on a brief network hiccup. Muvic now tries again once on a fresh connection before showing an error.

v1.0.7

October 3, 2026

Desktop

  • A playlist you import in the app now shows up on muvic.app straight away. It used to wait until the next time you signed in.
  • Playlists you save on muvic.app now appear in the app when you switch back to it, instead of only after signing in again.

Web

  • If you open Muvic from Instagram, Facebook or another app, the sign-up page now tells you that the app's built-in browser can stop the security check from loading, and offers a one-tap way to open the page in Safari or Chrome. The sign-in page says the same, because Google refuses to sign you in inside an app's browser.
  • When that security check fails to load, the message now tells you something you can act on. It used to ask you to unblock a Cloudflare address, which is not something you can do inside an app's built-in browser.
  • The homepage no longer downloads the demo video until you scroll to it, so it loads faster, especially on a phone.
  • On a phone, "Create free account" is now genuinely the first button on the homepage rather than only appearing first, so a screen reader reads the same order you see.

v1.0.6

October 2, 2026

Desktop

  • The app now sends a random installation ID with its anonymous usage events, so we can tell one copy of Muvic opening five times from five people opening it once. It is not tied to your account or your Mac, and deleting the `install-id` file in Muvic's Application Support folder resets it. The privacy policy describes it.
  • When your Beatport cart is full, the sync now stops and tells you so. Beatport limits how many items a cart can hold, and Muvic used to keep going, slowly failing every remaining track. Check out or clear some space, run the sync again, and it carries on from where it stopped.
  • A Beatport track that is only sold as part of an album is now reported as that, straight away. It used to take over a minute and then say the track could not be found. If another release of the same track can be bought on its own, Muvic adds that one instead.
  • Beatport syncs are much faster. Muvic now finds and adds each track directly instead of loading Beatport's search page for it, so a found track takes about 2 to 3 seconds instead of 12 to 15, and a track Beatport does not have takes about a second instead of up to a minute and a half. When a track comes in several versions, the Original Mix is now picked over remixes unless you asked for a remix or prefer Extended mixes.
  • Signing in to Beatport from the app now recognizes the newer and the split versions of Beatport's sign-in cookie, so a login that worked no longer times out as though it had failed.
  • New accounts now get a short "Your first sync" checklist on the playlists screen, ticking off adding a playlist, connecting Beatport or Bandcamp, and running the first sync. It disappears as soon as you finish a sync, or when you hide it.

Web

  • Downloads are now counted once per person per day, and automated traffic such as crawlers and link previews is no longer counted at all. To do this the site keeps a keyed hash of your IP address and the date, never the address itself. The privacy policy describes it.
  • The privacy policy now has an Email section. It names the service that delivers our email, says what it receives (your email address and display name), and explains the product-updates list and how to leave it.
  • Fixed "A sync is already running for your account" locking you out. A sync keeps running on our side if you reload or close the page, and coming back used to get you nothing but that message. The page now picks the running sync back up and shows its progress, or tells you how far along it is if you were starting a different one.
  • You can now stop a sync. There is a Stop sync button while one is running, including one you can no longer see from an earlier visit. It finishes the track it is on and stops, and anything already added stays in your cart.
  • When your Beatport cart is full, the sync now stops and tells you so. Beatport limits how many items a cart can hold, and Muvic used to keep going, slowly failing every remaining track. Check out or clear some space, run the sync again, and it carries on from where it stopped.
  • A long sync that ended early because your Beatport session expired now says so. Before, only short syncs showed that explanation.
  • Sign-ups from the website now ask you to confirm you are human, to stop scripted accounts being created in bulk and Muvic mail being sent to addresses that never asked for it. Most people will not see anything.
  • If a sign-up is refused, the form no longer throws away what you typed. Correcting the problem and trying again now works instead of sending you back to the start.
  • If you signed up but never confirmed your email, we can now send you a one-off reminder with a fresh link, so an unconfirmed account does not just sit there with syncing locked.
  • The confirmation email now uses a single button that works in every mail app. The old "Open in Muvic app" button had its link stripped by Gmail and most other clients, so it did nothing and some signups were never confirmed. Opening the Mac app is now offered after you confirm, in the browser, where it actually works.
  • Sign-ups are now limited to 5 an hour from the same network, so Muvic cannot be used to send confirmation mail to addresses that never asked for it.
  • The "Still building your music library by hand?" band now uses the same typeface as the rest of the site. Its wording used to be part of the picture, so it looked different and could not be selected, translated, or read aloud by a screen reader. It also reads properly on a phone now instead of shrinking with the image.
  • Upgrading from the Account page now goes straight to checkout, with the monthly and yearly prices on the buttons. It used to send you back to the homepage to find the plans again.
  • A sync that fails now tells you what to try and offers a support form that already has the error written in it, instead of leaving you to go looking for help.
  • The pricing section now offers creating a free account next to the Mac download, so people on a phone or a work machine have a way in.
  • On a phone, the "this is a Mac app" note is now a card with the email-the-link form in it, so the one thing you can do from a phone is easy to see.
  • The internal dashboard now links back to the sync page.
  • A sync run on our servers now recognizes the newer and the split versions of Beatport's sign-in cookie when it signs in, instead of reporting a successful login as a timeout.
  • Buttons that jump to a section further down the page, like "See how it works", now tint that section for a moment when it arrives, so the click visibly does something.
  • On the sync page, clicking a recent sync again while its tracks are still loading no longer closes the row you just opened.
  • After five minutes of reading, the marketing pages now offer a free account once, in a small card you can dismiss. It never returns for that visitor, and signed-in people never see it.
  • Links in the footer and the top bar are now big enough to tap on a phone. At 12 pixels with no padding around them they were about a third of the size a thumb needs, so About, Releases and Compare were collecting repeat taps from people who had already hit them.
  • Pages that point you at support now offer the form on muvic.app/support first, with the email address beside it. An email link does nothing on a computer with no mail app set up, which left some people clicking it over and over.
  • On a phone, "Download for Mac, Free" no longer pulls down a 126MB installer you cannot run there. It takes you to the box that emails the link to your Mac instead, and a quiet link under it still downloads the file for anyone who wants it on that device.

Extension

  • Fixed being told to sign in to Beatport again on every visit. When a Beatport sign-in is too big for one cookie the browser splits it in two, and Muvic did not recognize the split version, so it reported you as signed out however many times you signed in. It only ever affected accounts whose sign-in is large, which is why it hit the same people every time.

v1.0.5

September 16, 2026

Desktop

  • Fixed Pro accounts being treated as free when the license was activated somewhere else (on the web, on another Mac, or after a reinstall). That could send a "monthly limit reached" email to a paying customer, turn off the Bandcamp fallback they pay for, and cut their sync history down to the last 5 runs. Your tier is now always read from your account, not from whatever this Mac happened to have stored.
  • Tracks that are on Beatport but could not be added to your cart no longer say "not found". They get their own line, "Found on Beatport, could not add to cart", and their own count, so the not-found number only covers tracks that really are not on Beatport.
  • If your Beatport sign-in expires in the middle of a sync, the sync now stops and tells you, instead of working through the rest of your playlist against a dead session and reporting every one of those tracks as missing.
  • The update notice no longer prints the whole release notes across the top of the app. It is one line now, with a "What's new" button that opens the details when you want them.
  • "Forgot password?" now opens the reset page with a tag that tells our analytics it came from the app, so real reset requests can be told apart from other visits.

Web

  • Tracks found on Beatport whose cart-add failed now show "Could not add" instead of being counted as not found, and they are left out of the save-unfound and "try the other store" offers.
  • A sync cut short by an expired Beatport sign-in now says so, including how far it got.
  • The internal dashboard now counts downloads, and can tell our own test builds apart from real users' apps.
  • The homepage headline now says what Muvic does in one line: turn any Spotify playlist into a Beatport cart. On a phone the intro is shorter, so the buttons fit on the first screen.
  • The homepage now offers "Create free account" right under the headline. On a phone it comes first, since the Mac download cannot be installed there.
  • On the About page, the founder's name and photo now link to LinkedIn.
  • Loading an imported playlist on the sync page now tells you when it could not load, or when the playlist is empty, instead of quietly doing nothing. A successful load shows "Loaded" on the button.
  • Opening a recent sync that has no saved track details now says so, instead of opening an empty panel. Clicking a row several times quickly no longer fetches it several times.

v1.0.4

September 15, 2026

Web

  • Fixed the "Download for Mac" button in the top bar sitting too high and getting clipped by the edge of the bar.
  • The homepage now shows what Muvic leaves you with: a filled Beatport cart and a library with your real spend across stores.
  • Every content page now carries a "Download for Mac, Free" button in the top bar, so you are never more than one click from the app.
  • Each demo now ends with the matching next step: download the Mac app, open the web sync, or add the browser helper.
  • On a phone or tablet you can now have the download link emailed to you, instead of being offered a Mac app you cannot install there.
  • Fixed the two buttons under the homepage headline sitting 12px out of line with each other.
  • If your session expires mid-sync, you now get the "signed out" banner and can sign back in, instead of a raw "unauthenticated" error with no explanation.
  • Recent syncs now tells "nothing here yet" apart from "could not load", and offers a retry. A failed refresh used to make the whole section vanish as though your history had been lost, and opening a row could leave an empty panel hanging under it.
  • A sync that dies partway through is now reported as failed instead of sitting there as though it were still running. Coming back to one tells you it ended rather than leaving it spinning.
  • Fixed Bandcamp sync reporting tracks as not found when they were there all along. Muvic was reading the album name where the artist should be, so anything released on a label page or as part of an album got thrown out as a mismatch. Most of a playlist could come back empty.
  • Bandcamp search now gets a second try with a simpler search when the first one finds nothing. Spotify lists every credited artist and tags titles with things like "Original Mix" or "Edit", and searching for all of that at once often returned no results even when the track was on Bandcamp.
  • Sync health is now checked automatically once a day and flagged by email when a store starts failing, instead of waiting for someone to open the dashboard or for a customer to report it.
  • Bandcamp searches now go through Bandcamp's own search service instead of reading its search web page. Muvic sees the artist and release name for each result and can pick the right one before opening anything, so fewer wrong matches and fewer misses.
  • A Bandcamp sync on the web now shows in Bandcamp's own cyan instead of the green used for Beatport, so at a glance you can tell which store you are syncing to. The "Try Beatport" button stays green, since that is where it sends you.
  • Fixed the reliability figures on the internal dashboard counting sync runs from outside the window they claimed to cover, which could keep showing a problem as current after it had been fixed.

Desktop

  • The app now records how its syncs went, so problems that only happen on real machines can be spotted and fixed. No account details or personal information are stored, and it is not tied to you.

v1.0.3

September 1, 2026

Web

  • New comparison pages at /vs, so you can see at a glance how Muvic differs from other DJ library tools.
  • The comparison pages are now linked from the homepage and the footer, so they are easier to find.
  • Added a /vs page listing every comparison in one place. Trimming the URL to /vs used to show a "page not found" error.
  • The sync page now tells Safari users exactly which sites need access, and links straight to the right Settings pane instead of a toolbar icon Safari does not show.
  • Platform action buttons line up in even columns instead of staggering across rows.
  • Clearer plan names and plain-language descriptions of what each one covers.
  • The releases page updates the moment a new version ships, instead of lagging a release behind.
  • The download buttons now confirm that your download started, instead of looking like nothing happened.
  • Visiting on a phone or tablet now says Muvic is a Mac app, rather than offering a download that cannot be installed there.

Extension

  • Fixed Safari reporting you as signed out of Beatport and Bandcamp when you were signed in. Safari gives each profile its own cookie store, and the extension was reading an empty one.
  • Fixed site-access detection in Safari. Cookie lookups used a leading-dot domain Safari never matches, so granted sites could still show as blocked.
  • The page bridge re-injects itself as soon as you grant a site permission, so you no longer have to reload the tab first.

v1.0.2

August 25, 2026

Safari Sync Helper improvements: the extension is detected automatically after you enable it, and the sync page now tells you exactly when Safari needs website access. Purchase confirmations now sync across all your devices, and your Library shows syncs from every device you use.

v1.0.1

August 16, 2026

Safari: the bundled Muvic Sync Helper extension now works with muvic.app. The Sync page detects the extension, and the popup adds a one-click button to grant the website access Safari requires.

Clearer guidance when your browser is blocking cookie access for Beatport or Bandcamp (Safari and Firefox).

In-app update notices now detect new versions reliably across builds.

Faster, more reliable muvic.app/releases page.

v1.0.0

July 27, 2026

Initial public release. Sync your Spotify playlists to Beatport and Bandcamp, manage imported playlists, and track confirmed purchases across platforms.
